ENTRE NOUS
between us.
PERSONAL ESSAYS ON THE ART OF BEING HUMAN.
I’ve always believed that some things are better understood when written down.
Entre Nous is a collection of thoughts, observations, and stories gathered along the way. Some are deeply personal, others are simply reflections on the ordinary things that make a life.
I write about love, loss, the passing of time, and the peculiar beauty of being human.
Nothing here is meant to be perfect. Only honest.
After all, this is just between us.

Before We Begin…
I’ve never been particularly good at introducing myself. There’s something strange about trying to summarize an entire person in a few paragraphs, especially when I’m still figuring out who that person is. But I’ll try.
I’m Makena Craig. I’m twenty-four, from a small town in upstate New York, and I’ve spent most of my life with my head somewhere between the world in front of me and the one I’ve made up in my mind.
I’ve always been a writer, even during the years when I wasn’t writing much of anything. I’ve collected stories, paid attention to conversations, romanticized ordinary afternoons, and wondered about things that probably didn’t need quite so much wondering.
Somewhere along the way, life became a little more complicated than I expected. I’ve experienced things that changed how I see the world, and I’ve learned that growing up is less about becoming the person you imagined and more about getting to know the person you’ve become.
I don’t have any grand wisdom to offer. Most days, I’m still trying to understand things myself.
But I believe there’s something worthwhile in paying attention. In remembering the little things. In being willing to write about the parts of life that don’t always make sense.
That’s where Entre Nous comes in. A place for the things I’ve been thinking about, the stories I want to remember, and the words I haven’t quite known where to put. Nothing more complicated than that.
I’m happy you found your way here.
With love,
Makena
